On this 100th anniversary of Veterans Day, we dwell on the theme of steadfast faith. The countless men of women of the armed forces throughout history have demonstrated the human capacity to stand firm for something they believe in. Church history is also full of such examples of Christian soldiers standing firm even in the trenches of spiritual warfare. In 1 Thessalonians 3, we gain encouragement as we see the blessings such steadfast faith can bring into our lives and the lives of those around us.
