The connections between Exodus 12 & Isaiah 52-53 were clipped from the audio due to a glitch. Here they are:

• Excursus - Isaiah 52-53 Connections
  • Isaiah 52 speaks to the people in exile of a coming salvation, a new exodus
    • Verse 6 says “Therefore my people shall know my name. Therefore in that day they shall know that it is I who speak; here I am.”
      • This is very similar to Ex. 6:2-8
    • Verse 10: “The Lord has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.”
      • This is also very similar to wording and the purpose of the exodus
    • Verse 12: For you shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight, for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.”
      • The opposite of what we read in Ex. 12
    • 14-15: “As many were astonished at you— his appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance, and his form beyond that of the children of mankind—so shall he sprinkle many nations. Kings shall shut their mouths because of him, for that which has not been told them they see, and that which they have not heard they understand.”
      • This leads into Is. 53 - the sacrifice of the Suffering Servant “sprinkles many nations” and leads not just to an exodus for Israel but an exodus available to all
